How often have you heard the claim, "Lose pounds in few days, or get your money back?" Nowadays, most people become diet experts, and give you their own tips. They promise you will lose thirty pounds in few days; if it doesn’t happen, you will get your money back, even though you never get back anything.
Simply put, water makes up about 70% of the human body. This is why it is easy to lose pounds. But after a while, you quickly regain those pounds. In addition, weight loss through an inappropriate diet will lead to loss in muscle mass, which is a very serious complication.
Losing muscle mass during a weight loss process has ominous implications:
1. The capacity of fat burning will decrease.
2. An extra protein metabolism will take place, affecting the kidneys.
3. You will lose your body shape.
In addition to the previous implications, weight loss from calorie restricted diets will not change your habits that originally lead you to gain weight in the first place. Thus, it's most likely that you will regain weight soon.
So, what is the alternative?
Well, the best way to lose weight is to change your lifestyle. If you will change just a few habits, e.g., giving up sodas or extra coffee, you’ll find it is the best way to lose as much as you'd like. You can lose thirty pounds in thirty days safely and permanently, without pills or special meals. You have to remember this golden rule: “Eat the right carbohydrates at the right time, exercise, and get enough rest, and you will hit your target weight.”
You do not have to stick with a program like the grapefruit diet; you will starve yourself to lose only a few pounds. On the other hand, changing some habits will deliver much better results than starving yourself through a malnutrition diet.
